Description

DR TOOT presents the world famous Sshh Practice Mute for the French Horn by New Zealand owned Bremner Music in New Plymouth. We have the Large and Medium bells size.

Needing to practice at odd times and in odd places over the years (and the absence of a suitable mute) was the reason Trevor Bremner designed the sshhmute. In development over several years in his New Plymouth workshop, the sshhmute has been in full commercial production for almost 20 years and has been successfully launched to answer a market need for an effective mute for brass instruments in a price range to suit budding musicians and professionals alike.

The sshhmute is available for: Trumpet/Cornet, Piccolo Trumpet, Tenor Trombone, Bass Trombone, French Horn, Tenor Horn, Flugel Horn

We are excited to announce that you can purchase a sshhmute with your choice of 9 different colours for the cap on your new mute. Please send us a message if we do not have the colour that you’d like.

This unique design creates minimal back-pressure, which helps the throat muscles to achieve better control, provides better air supply and flow, while being in tune and accurate throughout the range.

Many professional players around the world (including NZSO) are using these mutes.

The Bremner sshhmute is the #1 choice for some of the world’s top brass players including:

  • James Morrison (internationally acclaimed jazz artist)
  • Joseph Alessi (Principal Trombone – New York Philharmonic)
  • David Elton (Principal Trumpet – London Symphony Orchestra)
  • and acclaimed ensembles such as Canadian BrassFoden’s BandBrassband Willebroek, and Wellington Brass.

Many students love it ! Their families enjoy it too !! What a difference !!! Harmony restored in the Home !!!!

Made in New Zealand
